frequently asked questions

What happens if the weather is bad or it’s a rainy day?
For outdoor sessions, we keep a close eye on the weather. We’ll be in touch the evening before your session if there is bad weather in the forecast. If conditions are going to be unsafe or unsuitable for taking photos during your time slot, we’ll coordinate to reschedule for another day or time.

What if I need to cancel?
If something comes up, please email us as soon as possible. Your spot is reserved just for you (and we often turn others away once we’re full), so the deposit is non-refundable. If you need to cancel, we can apply your deposit towards a mini session or private session at a later date.

When will I receive my photos?
Your edited photos will be delivered in a digital gallery within 2 weeks!

Do I get to pick my photos?
No, however we aim to select, edit and deliver our favorite images which will include a variety of shots from your session.

Do you provide RAW (unedited) images?
We don’t deliver RAW files. Editing is a big part of our artistic process, and the final gallery reflects the full vision and style you see in our work.

What if my kids don’t cooperate?
We take a very relaxed, go-with-the-flow approach. We like to let your kids lead the way when needed and focus on candid moments so we can capture genuine smiles without pressure.

What is a mini session?
Minis are 15-20 minute sessions designed to capture a few photos of you and your loved ones, and also get a taste of what it’s like to work with us. The dates and locations are predetermined. These sessions are great for immediate family portraits, couples and solo photos, and pets. Extended family photos and special occasions (ie. proposals and engagements, maternity, newborn, cake smashes, etc.) require a private session.

How is a mini session different from a private session?

Mini sessions are shorter, take place at a predetermined location, and include a smaller curated gallery. Private sessions allow for more time, flexibility, and customization, including your choice of timing and location, plus a wider variety of images.

Who can attend my mini session?
Mini sessions are designed for immediate family, couples, kids, and pets. Because of the shorter time frame, extended family members (like grandparents, cousins or large friend groups) require a private session.

When should I arrive for my mini session?
Please plan to arrive 5–10 minutes early. Mini sessions run back-to-back and can’t be extended for late arrivals, so arriving a little early helps everything run smoothly.

How far in advance should I book a mini session?
Mini sessions tend to sell out quickly! Booking as soon as dates are released gives you the best chance of securing your preferred spot.

Can I change my time slot after booking a mini session?
Since mini sessions are scheduled back-to-back, time or date changes can be tricky. That said, if something comes up, please reach out, sometimes we are able to shift things around!

Can I choose the location for a mini session?
Mini session locations are predetermined to keep the experience smooth and consistent for everyone. If you're interested in a specific location, consider booking a private session with us.
